WAVERLY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM SPRING 2012 SESSION
Dear Parents,
We are now accepting registration for the Waverly After School Program. This program is being offered to Kindergarteners and First Graders. We have selected a core set of club activities appropriate for this age group.
- Due to PTA liability insurance, you must be a member of the PTA in order for your child to join a club. If you are not already a member of the Waverly PTA, please contact Shubhra Srivastava at 282-6917.
- Registration forms are to be sent through the mail NOT through the backpacks
- All clubs have different pricing so be sure to send the correct amount. Fees include materials and insurance for those to which they apply
- Clubs will begin on Friday, March 9, 2012 and will run for 8 sessions from 3:15-4:15 pm.
- Clubs will not be held on half days, holidays or snow days.
- Make-up days due to unforeseen cancellations will be rescheduled as needed.
- Parents are required to arrange pick-up for their children on time. An adult must come into the cafeteria to pick up your child.
You may enroll your child into any club you prefer. Please write a separate check for EACH club. You may also provide an alternate option in the event that the first choice(s) is full. If your child does not get into a club a denial confirmation via e-mail will be sent and your voided check will be disposed of. Please understand there is a max number of students per day due to safety reasons. Also, this is a first come first serve placement so make sure you mail your application to the appropriate address. Any application sent to school will NOT be accepted. They will be returned home with your child. Confirmation e-mails will be sent out by Friday, March 2, 2012.
Registration forms are due no later than Friday, February 17, 2012 by mail. The cost of each club varies due to additional materials. Please look next to each club to see its fee.
Students participating in clubs will assemble and remain in the gym at 3:00pm with a monitor. The monitor will supervise students until the class begins. Clubs are dismissed at 4:15pm at which time students will reassemble in the Cafeteria with the monitor who will remain with them until parent pick-up.
Students are required to respect the property of the rooms where the clubs are held. Clubs are for the enjoyment of your children, and while we do not anticipate misbehavior, we reserve the right to dismiss a disruptive student from a club. One warning will be given. After one warning, the student will be dismissed and the club fee will be forfeited.
In an emergency, when clubs are in session, please contact the school office at (914) 793-6130 extension 5502. All homeroom teachers will be given a list of all students in their classes that are participating in clubs. If your child is in school but WILL NOT attend their club on a particular day, you must send a note giving permission for the teacher to send your child home.
Also, please make sure that you send in adequate snack with your child on the day of the club. The children will only eat snack with their class during the day. Snack is not allowed in the after school clubs.
